About Us

The Bookshop in Hampton was established in 1975 as a not-for-profit secondhand bookshop to raise funds for local charities. For over 50 years it has been a much-loved part of the Hampton community, raising vital funds while giving thousands of pre-loved books a new home.

Now under new management, The Bookshop is entering an exciting new chapter. Alongside the books and friendly, community atmosphere that have made it a Hampton favourite for decades, we’re introducing longer opening hours, fresh ideas and a renewed focus on making the shop a destination for book lovers.

We believe everyone should have access to affordable books, and that good books deserve more than one life. By donating, buying and reading pre-loved books locally, our customers help keep books in circulation for longer, reducing waste while making reading more accessible to the Hampton community.
